Immutable storage
A locked storage space, with or without a subscription
You reserve a dedicated volume whose content can be neither modified nor deleted before the end date you set. It can be used on its own or in addition to your WeDoBack backup.
What is it?
WORM storage
Immutable storage prevents any alteration or deletion for a defined period. It applies the WORM principle (Write Once, Read Many): data is written once, then only read.
Unalterable content
Unauthorized changes, malicious deletions, encryption by ransomware: locked content remains in its original state. Every action, even by an administrator, is logged and backed up: a deletion becomes a recorded event, which erases neither the history nor the document.
Chosen duration
You define the retention period according to your obligations and needs, up to a maximum of 10 years. Beyond that, you renew your contract to obtain a new 10-year immutable storage.
Encryption at the source
Data is encrypted on your machine, with a key that only you hold. It remains encrypted during transfer and storage.
Continuous monitoring
Backups are monitored 24/7, with an alert if an anomaly occurs.

An infrastructure separate from your production
Servers
Dedicated to backup
Your data is kept on servers dedicated to backup, in data centers separate from your production. Disks are renewed regularly and the number of deployed servers is growing.
Location
Replicated in Europe
Data is replicated across several European countries. Storage can be extended to other countries to broaden retention and protection. If your legislation requires a specific location, we deploy the storage in that location.

ISO 27001, HDS and GDPR
The data centers and solutions used are ISO 27001 and HDS certified (HDS: health data hosting certification, France). Processing complies with the GDPR. See also our healthcare page.

Two ways to use immutable storage
In both cases, you choose the volume in 100 GB blocks and install an agent on each server or computer concerned.
Without a subscription
A standalone immutable space
You do not need any other WeDoBack offer. All you need is immutable storage and one agent per machine, for example to keep archives or sensitive documents.
With a subscription
In addition to your backup
You add the immutable space to your INTEGRAL, DRP or BCP offer: a single agent per machine is enough, whatever the number of services. With SMART, the agent is reserved for that offer: adding immutable storage requires an additional agent.
